Creeping, slow-burn dread at its finest punctuated by satisfying moments of visceral raw violence, Treasured Guest is a must-read for lovers of claustrophobic hotel horror and cosmic creatures.
Platt has crafted a memorable main character in Stephanie, who maintains her tenderness and relatability throughout the narrative, even when battling some of the most creative monsters I've read in a long time (hello, blood-beings with mirror eyes and straight-razor claws!).
With an atmosphere as anticipatory as the hungry pit in the center of Stephanie's purgatory-esque hotel suite waiting to swallow her up, readers will be likewise captured by The Basker and the universe Platt has created within its impenetrable walls.
A huge thank you to Undertaker Books and Charlotte Platt for the ARC!
